Nightsafe 2 is a specialist lens coating combining NeoContrast™ technology with selective light filtering to help reduce glare and enhance colour contrast. Designed for everyday visual comfort, it offers benefits across outdoor, indoor and evening environments.

Selective filtering with NeoContrast technology

Nightsafe 2 uses Mitsubishi Chemical’s NeoContrast™ technology to selectively filter yellow light around 585 nm, enhancing colour contrast, particularly between reds and greens, and helping objects stand out more clearly. With a transparent appearance and a subtle blue hue, the lens also provides blue light filtering and UV protection while allowing other wavelengths to pass through, supporting clear, comfortable vision and helping to reduce glare.

Daytime benefits

Nightsafe 2 is designed to reduce distracting glare from bright surroundings, roads and reflective surfaces. Improved colour contrast can help wearers distinguish detail more comfortably during everyday outdoor activities. Indoors, it offers a filtering option for wearers who find artificial lighting, computer screens or reflected light uncomfortable.

Evening and night benefits

NeoContrast technology is intended to reduce perceived dazzle from headlights, street lights and LED lighting, supporting contrast and visual comfort in low light conditions. The lens does not completely eliminate glare, and individual results vary, however the bright glare and dazzle is muted.

Who may benefit

An option for opticians to consider for wearers who report discomfort from glare or want enhanced colour contrast. Our Nightsafe lens coating can be applied across our varifocal and single vision range in all indices, and in 1.6 only for bifocal.  Available also with Sunfilter, and Sunfilter X
